Suggested Donation
We suggest a donation of $25 per concert set (excluding the holiday concert) or $75 for the entire year. Your contributions help support our orchestra and the music we create together. If you are able, please pass your donation to Mindi Calabrese, our principal flutist. Checks can be made out to Riverside Chamber Symphony. As a 501(c)(3) organization, your donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated!
Concert Dress Attire
Concert dress attire is all black with black closed-toed shoes. Make sure your attire is cleaned and pressed. Also, please avoid wearing strong fragrances as they may be distracting to others.
Rehearsal Etiquette
Arrive Early: We encourage everyone to arrive at least 15 minutes before rehearsal begins. This allow for plenty of time to settle in, set up, and tune without feeling rushed.
Come Prepared: Please bring your music, a stand, stand light, a pencil, and anything else you might need. Marking your music lightly with a pencil helps us all stay on the same page.
Tuning Together: Our principal oboist will guide us through tuning with three concert A’s. The first A is for winds and brass, the second for low strings, and the third for high strings. Also please keep quiet during tuning so everyone can hear clearly.
Listen to the Conductor: Our conductor is here to help us make beautiful music together. Please listen carefully when they are speaking and hold off playing your instrument until it is time.
Respect Each Other: We are all here to enjoy making music, so let’s keep conversations to a minimum during rehearsal. If you need to talk, do so during breaks or speak quietly to avoid disturbing others. And, if you have any thoughts or concerns, sharing them kindly and respectfully is always appreciated.
